“In the Black Mountain” consists of two live recordings by Heejin Jang, including one track made in collaboration with Gagok singer, Minhee Park. On Side A, “The Night Crawler,” Jang’s crunching, dark electronic echoes set the scene for Park’s interpretation of a traditional Korean Gagok song called “산촌에” ( In The Mountain Village). On the second track, “Birds at Dawn,” Heejin calls out sleepless, electric chirps juxtaposing the darker mood of “The Night Crawler”. The black mountain-where two lost souls wanders in the dark awaiting sunrise.
